Florence is Deaf but There's No Need to Shout.

Florence was so much fun. We first got to the city by the bus and on our way in I just noticed a very significant difference to Venice. Everything was green and fresh and beautiful. The bridge was gorgeous and the streets were filled with various markets and museums that were tucked away within the city. Our first stop was the Uffizi which was glorious. I wish we had more time to spend there just day dreaming about the art. I felt so inspired to draw or paint or even write while I was there. I can't wrap my head around people who have such talent. It astounds me. The paintings alone were simply gorgeous and some of the more famous works of art were not disappointing in the slightest. I was amazed. After that Kimberly, Ali, and I went on our own journey to the Dali museum which was such a great experience. I was thrilled because I know so much about Dali and he is one of my favorite artists. We were not supposed to take pictures but I got them anyway. It's Dali I mean really! The abstract art was gorgeous and just breathtaking. I had a moment of realization where I was so honored that and privileged to get to come on this trip. I couldn't believe in that moment and every moment since, how lucky I am. After the museum we took to the leather market where I bought the most beautiful coat I have just about ever seen. I tested my haggling powers and got a pretty good deal out of it as well which was just a bonus. I have also been on a scarf hunt since I've been here for some reason. I have just taken a sudden need for more scarves in my life. I found many cute ones in that market. The next day in Florence we were pretty much set loose on the world. We got to pick whatever we wanted to do which was nice. I am proud to say that I climbed the Duomo and didn't die although my thighs very much wanted to give in to the idea. After that we just explored the city and did some shopping. I really liked being able to wander off and do my own thing. It was very relaxing. The next morning was optional because we had to pay out of pocket for it but we went to see David. I wasn't sure at first if I wanted to get out of bed because I was starting to feel sick but in the end I knew that I would regret it if I didn't go. I was absolutely right. It was so worth it. I can't believe how much I underestimated the statue of David. I was thinking that it would be impressive but I wasn't thinking that it would be anywhere close to that. Highly impressed. Two thumbs up. After that we had lunch before we had to run and catch our train back. All together Florence was gorgeous and so much fun. I can't express in words how much the city and the art inspired me.
