Blog Post #1-Pre-Italy

1.     1. I am first of all very excited just to travel and see a new place. I went to Europe last summer and fell in love so I cannot wait to see Italy. I love being apart of other cultures and seeing how people live in other places.

2.     2. Of course the food. I love food and the food in Italy is going to be REAL. Not fast food or impersonations of real Italian food. I am going to stuff myself with bread, butter, and gelato.

3.     3. After our discussion today about the operas I am getting really excited. I did not know they could be that extravagant and over the top! When I heard one was five and half hours that did make me nervous, but the videos we watched today got me excited for it. It is a new experience I know I will always remember!

4.     4.I am really excited to learn more of the language and hopefully be able to communicate and speak better by the end of the trip. Being immersed in the culture is going to help a lot with my speaking although I don’t hardly know any Italian right now.

5.    5. The people there fascinate me and I am excited to see how they live and what their everyday lives are like. I feel like in the United States we are all so busy, but in Europe they take things slower and really appreciate life. That’s what I want to do more, just enjoy life and take it easy the whole trip.

6.     6.The musical history is more interesting than I thought it would be! I didn’t think it would be boring by any means, but after talking about it in class I want to learn more and can’t wait to see the historic sites and cities.

7.     7.The architecture is going to be amazing! I love that Europe in general still embodies a more rustic and classic style to the country. They still have many modern buildings, but they keep everything else and just keep restoring the old buildings. Everything is just more beautiful there and I love it!

 

8.     8.The gondolas in Venice are going to be so cool! I want to be serenaded by beautiful Italian men J

9.     9. Tuscany is going to be very fun living in a Villa! I love that we are staying there longer because I feel like we are going to see more of Italy and not just the touristy part.

1010. I cannot wait to get out of here! I wish I could leave today(except my passport comes tomorrow so that could be a problem)… I am so grateful I get to go on this trip it is going to be great J
