I think I should probably first note a tiny little something so there isn't any confusion:
--Online, I do go by a pseudonym (Cayden) which will you see on here under contributors and my own blogposts whilst in Italy. Just saying this now so everyone knows that Cayden (the name) belongs to me, Kimberly. Now, without further ado, here are my 10 Things!
---
1) Learning the language (in the classroom, and out in the Real World)
--I love languages, so learning Italian so far has been a great plus for me so I can use the language to further adapt to the culture and not feel so "touristy". Not only that, but learning the language seems to be one of the most interesting things we can do as part of the trip in my opinion.
2) Exploring more.
--Italy was great the first time, but I definitely didn't have enough time to really get the culture and understand how the Italians live.
3) Vino e gelati
4) I'm super excited to go to the two opera houses! Even if Wagner runs nearly 6 hours, it'll be well worth it.
5) Spending time with new friends and creating new memories together! :)
6) Be a cheesy tourist with the gondola ride.
--Like it was said in class, it's the cheesiest and most tourist-y thing, but you have to do it.
7) Taking my time to really enjoy every part of the trip. Granted jet lag is always the worst, but it'll be nice to walk around Venice that first day and just glance around at the night life.
8) TUSCANY. I'm so excited to do everything I possible can there: wine tasting, olive oil, the countryside, the location, everything.
9) Other food like pasta and pizza, of course. I can't wait to have real Italian pizza again.
10) Overall, I'm just very thrilled to have this experience with other people that have similar interests. So this can go back to *5, but I just can't wait for this trip to begin. Bring on the 6 days of waiting!
Especially after Dr. Derfler's excellent presentation today, I can't wait for Wagner at La Scala.
